Welcome to the Spring Fling page
This year I have been accepted to participate in Scotland's Premier Art and Craft Open Studios Event.
Spring Fling Open Studios Weekend is over, but I still have a big smile. This year was the first time I participated and I have found it to be a very positive experience. Throughout the 3 days of the event we've had a lot of visitors through the door, with all visitors very interested not only in my work but also that of Rupinder Dulays Nail Factory Gallery. With the demonstrating of Silversmithing (and a silver ingot cast on Saturday morning) we've managed to set off the fire alarm on occassion and at some point I feared I might loose my voice, talking to so many people. I really would like to thank the Spring Fling Committee, for organising such a great event. Another heartfelt thank you to Rupinder Dulay for allowing me to use the Nail Factory Gallery and for putting up with me for 3 days! And offcourse, a great big thank you to all that have made it to my Spring Fling Studio and making the event a great succes!
A special note to the Friends of Spring Fling. Those off you that made it to my Studio and chose to enter the free prize-draw of the late Mohawk artist Daniel Fuller's screenprint 'In the Spirit of Brotherhood' , thank you for entering. I feel the concept of Spring Fling, the Artists and the Friends scheme really ties in with what Daniel's Screenprint stands for. From the 17th to the 20th of June I will be in the Czech Republic to play with my old band Hailander at a Festival, my friend (one of the friends with whom we ran the Native Canadian Art Gallery) will draw the winner and I will let you all know who, when I'm back.
Hope to see you, In The Spirit of Brotherhood, Wassail,
Erwin
